New altar pictures and color scheme for the medieval church in Ørre.

In 2016 the church was rededicated after its major renovation. I was assigned to make the altar paintings and color scheme for the church.

There are two paintings. The one on this photo refers to the walk to Emmaus on easter day, the other is a motiv that refers to the stable in Betlehem and is connected to the time around christmas. The two altar pieces are mounted back to back and can be turned and shown according to the Easter and the Christmas period. The birth, death and resurrection of Christ.

The paintings are inserted in the old altar frame. All wooden parts in the church were restored and given other colors according to the new whole.

The proces from first sketches to final opening of the church took around 3 years.

The ocher-colored benches and the bluish ceiling is meant as an echo of the landscape outside.
